[Contains SPOILERS]

I'm not really a hardcore fan of Tokusatsu but I'm not a stranger either. I have watched many Super Sentai (SS) series so far, but not any Kamen Rider (KR) yet. Kamen Rider GAIM is the first KR series that I've watched. Unlike SS, KR isn't included in my childhood, I didn't grow up watching it. Actually I'm not very sure what brought me to KR, maybe because many Toku fans that I know watch it and tell me KR has deeper plot and meaning, or the Toku fanpage I follow constantly post things about it, or because some Toku girls suggest that KR has more handsome guys than SS. I chose GAIM to begin, many people on that fanpage suggested it to me. It took me about a week to finish the series, and it's worth it.

I LIKE

The story

GAIM did everything to beat my guess. The story goes from street dancing competition to a whole species evolutionary issue, as well as how the idea of "fruit ninja" fits with the story eventually. I love how the plot uncovers little by little after each episode, it made me always want to continue watching it all the way to the end, and I enjoyed the progress. The ending is also satisfying, however I did not get enough of the antagonists, there should be more of Takatora (well he's not really antagonist though), more of Roshuo (definitely), and more of the professor.

Takatora

Takatora is probably my most favourite character in the series. Yeah he is handsome, and mysterious, everything a fangirl would love. He poses as a villian and negligent brother at first but then it turns out he's a responsible leader who sacrifices himself for the world and always cares for Micchi. Apart from how he treats his brother earlier in the series, he's the one with the most reasonable and acceptable thinking and behaviour. Oh yeah there are many weird and funny mindsets in GAIM that I'm gonna talk about later.

Kaito

His way of thinking is kind of villian-ish sometimes (many times), but he is somehow always the one who helps people (mostly Kouta) get themselves together and think rationally. He's in the middle between protagonist and antagonist. With Kouta, he's not an enemy, but rather a rival.

I DON'T LIKE

Kouta

Haha I like this pic
I don't hate him, but there's one thing I absolutely don't like about this character, which obviously is that he's too emotional at times and forgets to think clear before making an action, recklessly (typical main character I think).

Takatora and Roshuo

Both make an entrance as a powerful boss of Yggdrasill and Femshinmu respectively, and they keep being overpowered throughout the arc until suddenly the scriptwriter decides to nerf them BAD. No matter if you have the strongest Driver power or the Golden Fruit power, your underlings can always find a way to somehow sneak behind and stab you from the back.

MOST HANDSOME

Takatora - With no doubt for me.

Kouta - I like when he smiles and his final form.

Zack - I only noticed him in the later half of the series since he starts to get more screen time. For me he's most handsome among the dancers.

GAIM only has Mai (or she's the only girl who gets enough screen time) so I don't make a MOST BEAUTIFUL section here.

OVERALL I FEEL

Good. There could have been more to make it better but I'm still ok with this, not bad for my starting KR, and it also makes me want to continue to watch other KR.

NEXT IN KR I'LL WATCH

Kamen Rider W. For SS, I only watch from Hurricanger up to present and decide not to trace back further, because there are so many of them. So for KR, I think I'll only watch those in Neo Heisei era, starting with W.
